People say that this ghat was built by Vikramaditya in memory of his brother Bhartrihari. Rishikesh - also known as the 'place of sages', at the confluence of the Chandrabhaga and Ganga. It is believed that God by the name of 'Hrishikesh' had appeared as an answer to the hard penances by Rabhiya Rishi and henceforth the place derived its name.

Day 1: Delhi: Arrival and City Tour
On arrival at the Delhi Airport and after clearing the immigration formalities and baggage collection, our tour representative would greet and assist you to the pre-booked hotel. Check in to the hotel. Delhi is an amazing representation of the contemporary India where the past glory has been mixed perfectly.
After relaxing for a while, get ready for a Delhi tour. The first visit of the day is to Red Fort, popularly known as Lal Quila (closed on Monday). The foundation of this colossal structure was laid down by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and the construction of the fort took 9 years. Next you visit Jama Masjid, around 500 m away from Red Fort. The biggest mosque of India, it was commissioned by Shah Jahan in the 16th century. Later on, enjoy a drive past the India Gate and the Rashtrapati Bhavan (President House) ending the Delhi sightseeing.
Stay overnight in Delhi.
Day 2: Delhi – Jaipur (137 KMS/APPROX. 3-4 HRS.)
Have an early breakfast and after which, leave from Delhi to Jaipur. The first leg of the Golden Triangle tour is Jaipur trip from Delhi.
On arrival, check -into a hotel. Check-in formality is followed by sightseeing tour.
Check-in formality is followed by sightseeing tour including the magnificent City Palace fringed by massive courtyards, verdant gardens and other wonderful monuments, the world heritage site Jantar Mantar Observatory and the splendid Nawab Sahab Ki Haveli. In the evening, indulge in shopping at the vibrant local bazaars.
Day 3: Jaipur – Agra by Road (237 KMS/APPROX. 3-4 HRS.)
On the 3rd day of the Golden Triangle tour, begin your journey from Jaipur to Agra, early morning. En-route, halt at the World Heritage Site of Fatehpur Sikri, sandstone city that was laid down by Mughal Emperor Akbar. It has some of the most amazing structures that are worth-visiting. Explore the huge Jama Masjid, Buland Darwaza- the largest gateway in the world, the historical Jodha Bai Palace, Birbal Bhavan, Panch Mahal etc.
Upon your arrival at Agra, check in to a pre-booked hotel. Rest for a while following which you would be taken on a sightseeing tour of the historic Agra city. First in the list would be the wonder of the world, the beautiful Taj Mahal. This legendary white marble structure was built by another great Mughal ruler, Shah Jahan in commemoration of his love for his wife, Mumtaz Mahal.
In the latter half of our sightseeing trip, guests would be admiring the majestic Agra Fort and Itimad-Ud-Daulah’s tomb. Both of these structures hold great significance for the city’s heritage. Evenings are meant for some local shopping. Feel free to explore the whereabouts of the local market, buying souvenirs and handicrafts.
Post that return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Agra - Haridwar (400 KMS/APPROX. 7–8 HOURS)
In morning after breakfast head out for Haridwar and reach there in approx 7-8 hours. On arrival in Haridwar transfer to hotel. Evening visit Har-ki-Pauri (the footstep of God)- one of the most sacred ghats in India. People say that this ghat was built by Vikramaditya in memory of his brother Bhartrihari.
This ghat is also known as Brahmakund. Later witness Aarti of the Holy River Ganges. Aarti is the beautiful ceremony in which deeyas (the oil lamps) are offered to God. Aarti can be done to a deity in the temple or it can be done to a saint. It is performed to God, in any manifestation, any form, by any name. The essence of the aarti ceremony is a time when we say "thank you," and we offer the light of our thanks, the light of our love and the light of our devotion. We realize that the small deeya is nothing compared to the divine light which shines on us all day.
Night stay in Haridwar.
Day 5: Haridwar – Rishikesh - Delhi Departure (237 KMS/APPROX. 5–6 HOURS)
Morning after breakfast visit various temples including Pareshwar Mahadev Temple, Daksha Mahadev Temple and Mansa Devi Temple. Later drive to Rishikesh - also known as the 'place of sages', at the confluence of the Chandrabhaga and Ganga. It is believed that God by the name of 'Hrishikesh' had appeared as an answer to the hard penances by Rabhiya Rishi and henceforth the place derived its name. It is the starting point for the Char dham pilgrims but also for the people who are interested in meditation, yoga and other aspects of Hinduism.
In Rishikesh visit Laxman Jhula- a hanging bridge on the river Ganga is one of the most famous spot in Rishikesh. According to Indian mythology, Lakshman, the younger brother of Lord Rama crossed the Ganga with the help of hanging bridge made of Jute.
The bridge offers a scenic view of the river Ganga as it tumbles down to Haridwar. Also visit Bharat Mandir - the oldest temple in Rishikesh, near the Triveni Ghat. This temple is dedicated to Bharat, the younger brother of Lord Ram. Later afternoon you would be driven back to Delhi and further transferred to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 6: Delhi
Today after morning breakfast, checkout from hotel and you will be transferred to the International airport to board your onward flight. Here, the wonderful Golden Triangle tour ends
